Damask Divas Later Sk8r and Tommy

Welcome to Damask Divas Later Sk8r or Tommy Blog Hop!!My name is Traci Williams and I am an Independent Consultant with Close To My Heart. If you came from Amie Kiger's Mimi Myself and I blog, you are in the right place. If you have jumped here and just discovered our blog hop, feel free to check the list at Damask Divas blog to find the complete list of blog hop participants.

I decided to use Close To My Heart Tommy Paper Pack for a 2 page entries for a scrapbook.  You can pick the paper pack up for $9.95 but see a complete list of products that coordinate back to Tommy, click HERE.

For Later Sk8r Paper Pack, which I have used all up on my grandson, click HERE to see complete list of products.

The first page uses circles to show off photo's.  I used both Close To My Heart Cricut cartridges, Art Philosophy and Artiste to create die cuts.  I love welding die cut shapes to make more detailed die cut shapes.  For this page, the sailboats wheel was made from welding the Merry Go Round with clock hands.  I also added the frame around "SET SAIL!!!" to create cut out effect.  The 3 circles can hold 2"  pictures and the larger circle will hold a 4 to 5" photo.  I left the sun open for writing date and time.

For the second page, again, I both Close To My Heart Cricut cartridges, Art Philosophy and Artiste.  The big ship in lower right corner was made welding shapes together and inserting a die cut image in the center to be cut out (same process as "Set Sail!!!" mentioned on Page 1).  The 3 squares will fit 2" pictures and the rectangle cut with anchor's will fit a 3 1/2" x 5" photo.

Thank you for following Damask Divas Later Sk8tr or Tommy Blog Hop, next visit will be Sharon Chapman's Sharon's Paper Fiesta.  We hope you continue the fun journey of the hop and if you just came here, be sure to go to Damask Divas blog for the entire list of entries.  You will truly enjoy this hop, as it features 2 different paper packs!

Our challenge this month features not only one of these amazing cartridges but we also have a Wedding  theme.  There are so many weddings this time of year!  Do you have any weddings coming up?

My Aunt is getting married tomorrow (May 18th, 2013) and I am making her table decorations!  We talked about colors and she informed me they were going with yellow and white.  So using the Artiste Cricut Cartridg, I decided to make a candle box, daisies and "tattered" roses.

Since my aunt wanted to pay for supplies, she wanted me to pick up items at my local Hobby Lobby.

I did use White Daisy cardstock to make candle box.

You will select a daisy flower cut from the Artiste Cricut Cartridge, cut 3 at 3", 3 at 2.50" and 3 at 2".  Then you will select the triangle spiral flower for the center and cut it at 2".  1 Cricut 12 x 12 mat will hold cuts to make 2 flowers.  What I did to alternate the colors, I cut 9 sheets in yellow and 9 sheets in white (36 flowers in all).

For the rose, I selected the "tattered flower" from Artiste Cricut Cartridge.  Cut 5 pieces at 3".  I was able to make 3 sets of cuts (3 flowers) on one 12 x 12 mat.  Tint edges with Buttercup Essentials Ink to give more added affect to flower.

The box I cut to fit 2 per one 12 x 12 mat.  I welded hearts to give "window" appearance on box.  I distressed scalloped edges with Buttercup Essentials Ink and added 2 wedding rings to each corner.

I use a low heat glue gun when making my paper flowers, it makes a nice clean and "tight" flower.  The true benefit, it expedites the making process, due to not needing too much time to dry!
