Birdie in the Green

Welcome to Paper Crafting 101 Blog!

This project is inspired by the color GREEN!!

The colors consist of Close To My Heart colors New England Ivy, Sweet Leaf and Topiary.

Using the Cricut Artiste cartridge, I cut out the Milk Carton using Topiary Cardstock (Fit to Page).  Using Colonial White cardstock, I cut the roof at 3.25 by 6.25.  Using the wood grain embossing folder, I used New England Ivy pigment ink and inked the embossing folder before embossing.  I then selected hearts (standard and scalloped) from Artiste cartridge and sized to .50.  I colored hemp cord in New England Ivy and attached the Sweet Leaf stamped hearts to the hemp cord and added Artisan studs between each heart.  I attached the heart pendant with 2 mini clothes pins.    For the opening, I cut two oval shapes at 1.75" and 2".  Then I used hemp and glued around ovals.  I added a single heart with an Artisan stud.  I then used a swag wood decal for perch.  I cut a shape for the February Stamp of the Month (2.50 x 2.50).  I used gold embossing powder and heat embossed on pre-cut shape.

Artisan Studs, Wood decals and mini clothes pins will be available February 1st!!

So thank you for sharing the fun I had with 3 shades of green!

Not your normal Black Tie Affair!!

Welcome to Paper Crafting 101!!

Well, this project takes the edge off "Black Tie Affair".  It shows how lush a project can become by simply adding a pop of color to your standard Black and White papers!

Using Close To My Heart products, including upcoming "For Always" paper pack, I was able to create this whimiscal card!

Again, all of the papers used are from 1 paper pack, that will be available February 1st, 2013.

Lagoon is a color from Close To My Heart's Exclusive line.  Exclusive to Close To My Heart are products that match to each other, Lagoon cardstock, Ink Pads, Marker Sets, Pigment Inks, Re-Inkers and as you can tell, even emelishments!!  The lotus flowers are from the For Always Assortment collection.

Happy Crafting and thank you for viewing my blog!  Traci Williams, Independent Consultant Close To My Heart.

It's Your Birthday

Welcome to our January Art Philosophy Blog Hop! We are starting a new year of blog hops for you all featuring Close to My Heart's exclusive Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. The Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge is available exclusively through a Close to My Heart consultant.

This month we are featuring a "birthday" theme for you. In this hop, you will see projects featuring this versatile cartridge from many talented crafty ladies! Enjoy our blog hop!

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog – Love 2 Create  If you came from Stephanie of The Quilted Scrapper then you are in the right place!

Using Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, to make corner lattice cuts, select "starburst" on lower line of keypad (between tear drop and stocking).  Select <Font Layer> + <Shift> for square lattice cut.  Change height to 3.75.  On design layout, you will want to hide the center pedal cuts from the final cut.  That will give lattice corners solid with no holes. After you cut from Cricut, remove from mat and cut down center to make 2 pieces, then cut the center of those to make 4 corner pieces in all.  For the center label, you will select the "Birch" leaf from bottom row on keypad (2nd from left).  You will be doing 2 cuts on this pattern, 1st is the background cut, leave keypad as is, select and change height to 1.75.  For front label, select <Decorative Layer> + <Shift> and label then change height to 2.50.  For Flowers, select from lowest row the tag at the farthest right.  Select <Font> to select flower.  Resize height to 1.80 and copy and paste for 2 flower cut outs.  You can change the size smaller or bigger on the flowers.  Before quilling and gluing, distress edges with ink and allow time to dry.  After flowers made, place self adhesive sparkle gems or pearl gems inside center of flower.  Cut out square cut sized at 4 x 5.  Make sure matches card color.  To assemble, glue the 4 lattice corners on 4 x 5 square.  Glue background label center on center of card.  Before placing top label and flowers, add Birthday sentiment to top label and run Black Tulle through each slit, adhere to back side of each label side (do not run all the way through bottom of label) then adhere other tulle ends to back of 4 x 5 cut square.  Carefully move tulle around to give pleat look.  Use foam tape and attach to background label.  Finally, add flowers anywhere on the label.  Once that is complete, place sparkle gem pieces throughout lattice design for added look.

NEW~Later Sk8tr Close To My Heart B&T Papers

This is a scrapbook layout I made to show off how much my grandson is having with his new scooter.  I of course need to add the photo's but that will be a spring project due to too cold for scootering in Illinois!

I used shapes from Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge to generate the circles and triangle corners.  I also used the lower case alpha letters for the title, "Cool being me, me being Cool".

I used the upcoming stamp set from the Later Sk8tr Workshop on the Go kit.

Thanks for enjoying, Happy Crafting!

These treat tubes are great!  I used Silver Embossing Powder with the To and From stamp and heart ribbon on tube.  I also used 2 Inks:  Ruby Exclusive Inks® Stamp Pad and White Daisy Exclusive Inks® Stamp Pad.  So simple right?  The cardstock included is Hollyhock, Blush, Daisy White and a NEW Silver Glitz.  The silver glitz paper was used for the rosettes and top of tubes.

For the card, simply stamped on card and then cardstock to add elements.
