Damask Divas Frosted Blog Hop

Welcome to Damask Divas Frosted Blog Hop.  My name is Traci Williams and I am an Independent Consultant with Close to my Heart.

If you came from Jeannie Resnick's Scrap'n Jeannie, you are in the right place. If you have jumped here and just discovered our blog hop, feel free to check the list at Damask Divas blog to find the complete list of blog hop participants.

My project features a home décor item, a flameless candle!  This project is really simple and easy on the eyes!!  Will work great with your holiday décor.

I wrapped the candle with a sheet of  B&T paper from the Frosted Paper Pack and wrapped it with Burlap Ribbon and tied it with hemp cord from the Mini-Medley Accents Wooden Collection.

I then placed 2 wood flower cuts on top of hemp cord.

To make the decorated glass beads, I cut out 1" circles from pieces of the Frosted Paper Pack and glued them on with cement paste.

We thank you for following the Damask Divas Team Blog Hop featuring Frosted Paper Pack.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog – Love 2Create.  If you came from Theo's blog ~ Celebrate Crafts then you are in the right place!

For my project, I made an actual lantern!!  Using the Artiste Cricut Collection, Frost Paper Pack and November Stamp of the Month Illuminate.  I cut a 3D element from the Artiste Cricut Cartridge - flip out Octagon box (bottom piece).  You will need 2 cuts.
I then made labels to fit each of the 12 flaps (6 x 2).
Before I placed labels on flaps, I stamped the images on the labels using Slate Exclusive Inks Mini-Pigment Ink Pad.  Once I added a label to each flap, I punch holed just before the label.
To make the handle, you cut a piece of B&T paper to an angle point and then using a straw and Matte Mod Podge, apply to bottom of paper and roll around straw, be sure to keep the glue going on the under portion of the paper then when all rolled up, give it a good coat to the outside and place straw to dry vertical...I centered it over a glass.  Once dry, trim excess straw and thread the ribbon threw before applying ribbon to box.  I then glued the ribbon ends on inside of upper box.
Using hemp cord, I knotted the upper and lower flaps together until it formed the lantern.
This lantern works great with a simple battery operated tea light and a truly easy project with the Artiste Cricut Collection!!

Here are the items you will need to make this project:
Artiste Cricut Collection
Frost Paper Pack
November Stamp of the Month "Illuminate"
Slate Exclusive Ink Mini-Pigment Ink Pad
